Local Filmmaker and Author Dylan Brody’s LockDown 2o2o to Premiere at Marina Del Rey Film Festival
Los Angeles, CA - May 25, 2023 - Dylan Brody, a local filmmaker and author, is proud to announce that his microbudget feature film, LockDown 2o2o, a Minor Motion Picture Release from Active Voice Productions will have its world premiere screening on June 11th at noon as part of the Marina Del Rey Film Festival.
A comedic drama, currently sweeping the festivals-and-awards circuits with dozens of laurels over several festivals including best feature, best director, best actress (for all three of the women in the piece), best experimental feature, and best LGBTQ narrative, LockDown 2o2o follows Lindsay Grunman as she copes with the initial, months-long COVID-19 pandemic lockdown. Kate Orsini stars as the successful television creator who is forced to work from home and deal with her father Paul (Alan Brody), her neurotic brother Daniel (Dylan Brody) and his eccentric agent (Bonnie Hunt). Tovah Feldshuh takes a tour-de-force turn in the closing scene as Lindsay’s mother.
The film was shot entirely via ZOOM during the lockdown. Dylan Brody directed, edited, and produced the film, with a hand from Bonnie who came in as a partnering producer after doing her first scene with Kate. Ms. Orsini also wrote portions of the dialogue.
A multi-talented artist who has written several books, including Laughs Last (2017) and The Modern Depression Guidebook (2018), as well as numerous comedy albums, streaming specials and one-man shows. He has also appeared on various TV shows and podcasts, such as, A&E’s Comedy on the Road, The Green Room with Paul Provenza, and WTF with Marc Maron and has written for The Tonight Show and has served as David Sedaris’ hand-picked opening act.
“I wanted to make a film that captures the tenacity of familial bonds and the humor that makes them bearable,” Dylan Brody said. “I’m very grateful to the Marina Del Rey Film Festival for giving me this opportunity to share my vision – and frankly, Kate Orsini’s work — with the world.”
