Spirit of the Ninja
Martial Arts Buddy Film
written by Dylan Brody
(story by Masters Dylan Brody and Klay Seo)
A buddy-action martial arts film for an African American and an Asian lead.
“This action-packed buddy film starts out strong and never stops moving. Confusion over a maguffin allows a tense plot to develop. Fight scenes come closer together than dance numbers in any Fred Astaire flick, and the whole thing resolved with a light enough tone, that we were unsurprised when the martial arts master behind the script turned out to be an accomplished humorist and award-winning playwright. In every way, this script is the work of a master.”
— Some kid at Paramount who sent Mr. Brody a fan letter and a xeroxed copy of the coverage he turned in to his boss.
When a meek mailroom clerk accidentally summons an ancient ninja spirit while on a business trip to Japan, he must learn to embrace his own inner warrior to rescue his kidnapped sister from ruthless antiquities dealers who want what the relic he has retrieved. Not the book or the immortal spirit bound to it, of course. The other one, the one that he doesn’t even have.
